| Modernize the Military Compensation System |

Background: Congress established the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission in 2013 to provide the President and Congress with recommendations to modernize the military's compensation system. The Commission's report validated many of the VFW's beliefs that the government does not appropriately compensate and care for the men and women of the armed forces. Most notably, the Commission recognizes that the country has an obligation to better help all service members save for retirement.
Action: Members of Congress are considering whether to modernize the military compensation system. The VFW needs you to contact your members of Congress and tell them to vote for legislation that will enhance the current military compensation system by providing a 401(k)-type retirement contribution to all service members.
